On April 10, 2008 Kirstein & Young hosted a Speed Mentoring Program for the Air & Space Law Forum of the American Bar Association. Approximately 60 law students and young lawyers had the opportunity to meet and talk with 20 senior aviation attorneys from private practice, government, industry and trade associations about the practice of air and space law. The event was organized by Joanne Young and India Pinkney who are members of the Air & Space Law Forum Board.

On February 11, 2008 Joanne Young led a panel discussion of current legal and policy issues related to the collection, protection and transmission of personal data both in connection with the commercial activity of the airlines and as required by U.S. and EU government security programs at the International Air Transport Association 2008 annual Legal Symposium in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
